A bursary is a monetary award made by any educational institution or funding authority to individuals or groups. It is usually awarded to enable a student to attend school, university or college when they might not be able to, otherwise. Some awards are aimed at encouraging specific groups or individuals into study.
Fairtree Asset Management invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 academic year.
Bursary Application Closing Date: 11 November 2022
Bursaries will be awarded for studies within these fields:
- Accounting
- Actuarial Science
- Business Economics
- Computer Science
- Economics
- Engineering
- Finance
- Investments
- Mathematics
- Statistics
The bursary will cover the full academic period at the selected academic institution.
Bursary recipients may not change their course of study once funding has been granted, unless they receive written consent from Fairtree.
Bursary recipients will be required to maintain a minimum overall average of 60% for the duration of their studies, and will be required to provide regular reports/ transcripts.
Bursary recipients will be required to sign a bursary agreement with Fairtree, whereby further T&Cs will be provided.
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be studying towards a qualification, in one of the fields of study listed above
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
How to apply
Applicants must be submitted by following these steps:
1) Download and complete the Fairtree Bursary Application Form 2023 (.pdf)
2) Obtain clear and certified copies of the following supporting documentation (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Latest results or 2022 first semester results, if currently in your 1st year of study (certified copy)
- Full academic report for studies completed (certified copy)
- Proof of acceptance/ preliminary acceptance for 2023 studies (certified copy)
- Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips or employment letter if employed, latest financial statements if self-employed, affidavit if unemployed, divorce certificate if divorced, affidavit if parents are single or separated, death certificate if deceased) (certified copy)
3) Visit the WeTransfer website
4) Upload your completed application form and supporting documents
5) Enter [email protected] in the “email to” field
6) Enter your email address in the “your email” field
7) Enter “Fairtree Bursary 2023 – your surname and name” in the “title” field
8) Select “Transfer” to submit your application.
