Position: Online Independent Contractor (Marker)

  • Assumption of Duty: Candidates will undergo an interview (face-to-face or Microsoft Teams) and online Moodle training sessions.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Complete and execute assessment tasks professionally.
    • Comply with UNISA policies on tuition, assessment, examination, and plagiarism.
    • Act ethically and professionally in dealing with all assessment tasks.
    • Mark assessment tasks fairly and consistently.
    • Attend markers meetings and submit marking reports on time.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all assessment tasks.

Requirements:

  • Applicable and relevant qualifications equivalent to NQF level 9 or 10 (e.g., Geography Masters’ degree or Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of the relevant discipline.
  • Understanding of assessment and assessment practices.
  • Familiarity with marking procedures.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback on assessment tasks.
