Job Purpose

The Learning and Development Graduate will play a key role in planning, implementing, and reporting on human resource development, focusing on learning, training, and meeting Skills Development and Employment Equity requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Human Resources related Degree.
  • Matric certificate.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learning & Development:

  • Follow through on divisional skills requirements recording & implementation.
  • Address and attend to Learning & Development queries, escalating when necessary.
  • Assist in the compilation of procurement documents.
  • Manage relevant Learning & Development risks, such as monitoring study assistance beneficiaries’ progress.
  • Organize group training sessions.
  • Monitor Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Key Individuals & Representatives.

Skills Development Facilitation:

  • Capture data for Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) / Annual Training Report (ATR) in January/February.
  • Monitor Inseta open window periods for grant applications.
  • Assist in completing discretionary applications and securing approval.
  • Facilitate invoicing of approved discretionary programs by the Finance department.
  • Complete all mandatory & discretionary grants-related documents with Inseta.

Skills Development & Employment Equity Committee:

  • Assist in facilitating the appointment of committee members representing all employee groups.
  • Conduct briefings on roles & responsibilities.
  • Manage the nomination process completion and send out appointment letters.
  • Assist in arranging training for committee members.
  • Input into Skills Development & Employment Equity procedures.
  • Input into committee reports and upload them for employee access.

Reports:

  • Input into Learning & Development reports (monthly, quarterly, annually & ad-hoc).
  • Capture data on various parameters like budget vs. spend, strategic skills priorities, race, gender, equity, etc.
  • Maintain data on systems like BBBEE tool, L & D SharePoint site, Learning Hub, and platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Ms Dynamics 365.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Support the L & D function in building strategic relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Engage and resolve stakeholder needs promptly.
  • Participate in relevant Inseta & other institution events.
  • Liaise with industry players, government departments, and learning institutions.
