The Athlone Institute Trust invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024

The Athlone Institute Trust Bursary is open to South African citizens residing permanently in Paarl or Mbekweni, Western Cape, or parishioners at the five member churches of the Athlone Institute Trust. The bursary is available for undergraduate or postgraduate studies in any field.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • South African citizen (by birth)
  • Permanent resident of Paarl or Mbekweni, Western Cape, or parishioner at one of the five member churches of the Athlone Institute Trust
  • Completed Matric
  • Financial need
  • Enrolled to study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, full-time or part-time, for the 2024 academic year
  • Enrolled at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution
  • Passed the previous year of study (if currently studying)
  • Willing to take part in community service within the Paarl/Mbekweni area
  • Willing to take part in the mentoring program

Bursary Coverage: The bursary covers a portion of registration fees and tuition fees; the total value will be determined by the Athlone Institute Trust.

How to Apply:

  • Application forms available at member churches, Drakenstein Pharmacy, or New Orleans High School.
  • Submit completed application forms and clear copies of supporting documents to Drakenstein Pharmacy, 55 Jan Van Riebeeck Drive, Denneburg, Paarl, 7646.

Supporting Documents:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Full academic record (if currently studying, certified copy)
  • Proof of registration at a tertiary institution (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration fee payment
  • Proof of residence
  • Parents or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavits if unemployed)
  • Official Testimonial from your Religious Leader
