About the University of the Free State UFS
The University of the Free State (UFS) has a proud history as one of the oldest, most respected institutions of higher education in South Africa. It opened its doors in Bloemfontein in 1904 as the Grey University College, with six students in the Humanities. Today it is a multi-campus institution, with two diverse campuses in Bloemfontein and one in Qwaqwa in the scenic Eastern Free State, accommodating more than 40 000 students in its seven faculties, with an increasing number of international students and associates, and an ever-widening scope of active involvement in and contribution to its surrounding communities.
To pursue a degree program in Nursing at the University of the Free State UFS, an applicant must meet the admission/entry requirements before being offered admission.
UFS Nursing School Admission Requirements 2024
To be eligible for admission to study nursing, applicants need to meet the minimum requirements for eligibility:
Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Biology are recommended for Matriculation studies. Candidates will be admitted to the program if they have completed level 4 or literacy level 5 in mathematics, level 4 in physical science, and level 4 in life science.
Clinical training will take place at general and midwifery hospitals, mental hospitals, the community, and community health service facilities in the province in question.
How to Apply
Prospective students can apply to study nursing at University of the Free State UFS for 2024 in two ways, that is: through the online application portal or they can download the application form online or obtain it from the school’s admission office, fill the form and return it to the school.
