Job Purpose:

The Automation & Instrumentation Trainee Technician will provide technical support to various departments to improve production and operational processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend procedures, methods, and prepare technical reports/documentation.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to determine root causes and suggest corrective actions.
  • Monitor instruments and equipment, collect operating data, and perform calibration, inspection, testing, and repair activities.
  • Analyze and resolve malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems.
  • Prepare reports using metrics for analyses, salvage tracking, trending, and root cause analyses.
  • Maintain process designs to optimize processes and facilities while adhering to SOPs and GMPs.

Qualifications Required:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Trade Certificate of Competence in Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, or Millwright.
  • Experience in maintaining earth-moving equipment in an underground mining environment.
  • Code 08 driver’s license.
  • Full physical and medical certificate to work in a mining environment.
