Job Purpose:
The Automation & Instrumentation Trainee Technician will provide technical support to various departments to improve production and operational processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and recommend procedures, methods, and prepare technical reports/documentation.
- Conduct technical evaluations to determine root causes and suggest corrective actions.
- Monitor instruments and equipment, collect operating data, and perform calibration, inspection, testing, and repair activities.
- Analyze and resolve malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems.
- Prepare reports using metrics for analyses, salvage tracking, trending, and root cause analyses.
- Maintain process designs to optimize processes and facilities while adhering to SOPs and GMPs.
Qualifications Required:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Trade Certificate of Competence in Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, or Millwright.
- Experience in maintaining earth-moving equipment in an underground mining environment.
- Code 08 driver’s license.
- Full physical and medical certificate to work in a mining environment.
