Professor / Associate Professor: Educational Leadership and Management

The Department of Education Policy Studies is a research-intensive department. Its activities are informed by the following strategic orientations:

  • A strong alignment between the Department’s research agenda, teaching and service priorities and Stellenbosch University’s vision and strategic objectives;
  • Emphasis on integrating research, teaching and service;
  • Epistemology and knowledge construction as central concerns;

  • Research focus areas of intellectual relevance in the fields of education, development, democracy and leadership.

Duties:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including the development of theoretical frameworks, content and assessment strategies;
  • Research and publications;
  • Student supervision and co-supervision;
  • Evaluation of teaching practice.

  • Teaching Experience In Higher Education
  • Phd With A Specialisation In Educational Leadership And Management

Candidate Requirements

Requirements:

  •  PhD with a specialisation in educational leadership and management;
  • An undergraduate teaching qualification;
  • Teaching experience in higher education;
  • Evidence of a publications record in educational leadership and management;
  • Evidence of a supervision record at Master’s and PhD levels.

Recommendations:

  • NRF rating;
  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary debates in education and policy studies in South Africa;
  • Evidence of trans-disciplinary collaborations;
  • Evidence of international networking.
