Our client, a well-established logistics and transport solutions company, is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team in the Northern Suburbs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate allocation of stock to bookings and processing shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Grade 12/ Matic
- Diploma in Shipping, Clearing and Freight Forwarding, Distribution and Logistics Business Management or related field (Desirable).
- A minimum of 2-years experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics experience (Preferably import related)
- Ability to work all hours and from home where needed.
- Ability to identify the needs in the team and assist where needed.
- To have working knowledge of Google / Excel / Inttra (Desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documentation (Desirable).
- Resilient with the ability to work under pressure and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage account operation and at all times avoid incurring penalties and additional cost for LCL/Client
- Attend Client/Operation planning meetings
- Provide shipping options/routes/stacks dates/ETDs/ETAs to clients.
- Ensure customer has relevant rates for the abovementioned on quotation
- Request adhoc rates for clients with commercial team.
- Receive customer booking
- Create & send Q67 to:
- PPECB
- Agreed Line
- Customer
- Pack Store
- LCL Intermodal department (where relevant)
- Ensure receipt of Line booking confirmation.
- Verifying information correct as per customer instruction including capturing the correct freight contract (LCL/Client) in QX.
- Forwarding correct booking confirmation to customer.
- Insert operational data e.g., container numbers / product & temp info on files
- Update LCL systems with operational info QX.
- Interacting with intermodal in regard to any changes/amendments/issues with container loads.
