Introduction: The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is offering bursaries to deserving candidates pursuing studies in Agricultural-related fields for the 2024 academic year. These bursaries aim to support students residing in Limpopo and focus on scarce and critical skills in the Agricultural sector.

  • BSc: Veterinary Medicine
  • Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Technology
  • BSc: Bioresource Agricultural Engineering
  • Diploma: Civil Engineering

  • University of Pretoria
  • Tshwane University of Technology
  • University of Kwazulu-Natal
  • Any Higher Education and ECSA-accredited institution

Bursary Coverage:

  • Covers registration, tuition, accommodation, meals, and prescribed books.
  • Excludes private accommodation, extramural activities, insurance, funeral cover, stationery, and computer/laptop costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Limited to full-time undergraduate studies in the specified Agricultural fields at any accredited South African university.
  • Applicants must not hold any other bursary or NSFAS funding.
  • Successful candidates must enter into an award agreement with the Department.
  • Outstanding previous study debts will not be covered.
  • Academic pass in Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science both at 60% or higher.
  • Limpopo residents will receive preference.
  • Encouraged: Females and people with disabilities.

Application Procedure:

  • Obtain and submit completed application forms and supporting documents through District and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development offices or deliver to the specified address.
  • Required Documents: Certified copy of ID, Grade 12 Certificate, Proof of 2024 Registration/Acceptance, Proof of guardian/parents’ income, Academic history for current tertiary students, Proof of residence.
