Vacancy Details

New Vacancy: We are seeking a qualified Industrial Engineer for our client based in the Automotive Industry, in Gqeberha.
Duties:

  • Ensure the adherence to the company`s rules and regulations as documented in the company`s disciplinary policy;
  • Ensure that all data (quality/process/production) collected from all teams are accurate and in line with the process and inspection standards that are available to them;
  • Lead the process of 5S implementation and maintaining thereof (sort, sweep, shift, standardize, sustain) in order to identify and eliminate waste and ensure to continuously improve within the workplace;
  • Development of SOP`s & process improvements in line with the Technical specification to make sure that all parts and processes that are being followed is the best practice during every cycle of process and during the inspection method that is being used;
  • Document all improvements on all processes and the standardization thereof;
  • Updating bills of materials (BOM) and loading it onto SAP in a timeous manner to make sure all systems have the latest documentation available for all supporting areas;
  • Compiling of part lists for production teams, to ensure the correct pick, pack, and fitment of parts on respective models in line with the production schedule;
  • Record and updating of production orders in the Vehicle Database to ensure vehicles are timeously booked into stock and follow up on the open stock items to ensure shorter lead time after each signed off unit;
  • Do time studies to support the productivity on the production line and relevant areas to reduce waste in cycle times;
  • Support in the development and ordering of local parts or parts that were not received for the production builds;
  • Compiling advanced notifications regarding changes on all models and distribute to Aftersales and Dealer network to effectively communicate change control;
  • Update SAP and EMA on new structure module derivatives and also to support and alter current/historical builds;
  • Update part coding with the loading of new parts received and ordered/created a local part number for CKD parts;
  • Support all areas by providing part numbers and part specifications of parts fitted by production, adjustment and supporting areas (warehouse, body and paint shop);
  • Support the Quality Technician on equipment and machines that are out of the calibration & not in safe working conditions including back-up equipment on a regular basis to ensure that the latest and proper instructions are being followed for out of the calibration equipment;
  • Support with improvements and out-of-standard condition in the teams that need assistance;
  • Support in the monitoring of all audits that are performed randomly by the production and quality team for each operation/work station to ensure that quality standards are maintained when required;
  • Champion breakpoints/ batch numbers on issues that were previously communicated to the parent company to ensure integrity with corrective batch numbers received;
  • Monitor that all tool specifications are maintained during the use of the tools and no unauthorized modifications must be made to the originality thereof;
  • Action any safety-related problems that were reported to you that may hinder the quality of the parts or processes immediately;
  • Provide daily, weekly & monthly SOP feedback to ensure that the respective teams action any outstanding items;
  • Support the teams in the WIP status when required, by ensuring that processes, parts, and instructions are readily available (Cab skews, U-bolts, Spacers);
  • Inform the Quality Technician if any updates needed to be done on the job cards and other supporting information during new and current builds;
  • Support with all Voice of the customer complaints to make sure that all plant controllable items are contained, actioned, controlled, and documented;
  • Manage monthly tracking of completed SOP`s per model;
  • Support with problem-solving activities where possible by helping to identify the root cause and implementation of containment & corrective action processes (short term and long term);
  • Inform the Quality manager about any abnormalities or potential problems/bottlenecks that could hinder production flow;
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process activities as required;
  • Ad-hoc function which may fall in the ambit of the job requirements;

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Industrial Engineering Qualification (completed)
  • Understanding of Technical/Process Drawings
  • Code 8 Driver’s License
  • Self Disciplined
  • Good Time Management skills
  • Target Driven
  • Excellence Communication Skills
  • Flexible, with regards to change
  • Highly advantageous if  you have worked in the Automotive Industry
