Not only does the Higher Certificate offer “work-ready” practical training, it’s also a springboard into higher education in this exciting field.

SACAP’s Advanced Certificate builds on an existing foundation of learning. It’s a short, 1-year, vocational qualification that has been specifically designed to further your knowledge and insight in psychology, human behaviour and mental health. Not only does the Advanced Certificate provide a strong focus on applied counselling and communication skills for application in a variety of counselling environments ­– it also develops deeper knowledge in specific counselling areas of your choice.

Bachelor of Applied Social Science

SACAP’s BAppSocSci degree is a comprehensive, 3-year, undergraduate qualification that develops a robust theoretical and methodological understanding of the discipline of psychology embedded within the social sciences. It has been specifically designed to build critical thinking and a depth of understanding of the individual within a social context and positions you well for admission into an Honours degree or postgraduate studies in psychology, the social sciences or related fields. What’s more, the BAppSocSci incorporates essential “work-ready” counselling and communication skills.

Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Majoring in HRM and Psychology)

SACAP’s three year BAppSocSci undergraduate degree offers an option to specialise in human resource management. The degree builds critical thinking skills and a depth of understanding of the individual within a social and organisational context. The graduate is well-positioned for admission into an honours degree or postgraduate studies in psychology, the social sciences, or human resource management. The specialisation also incorporates essential “work ready” human resource management skills.

SACAP’s Bachelor of Social Science Honours (Psychology) Degree is a dynamic programme that offers advanced levels of academic challenge and builds intellectual independence and research capacity in the principles and methodologies of psychology at a postgraduate level of study.

Bachelor of Social Science Honours (Psychology) [BPsych Equivalent Programme]

SACAP’s BPsych Equivalent Programme is an 18-month professional Honours degree that incorporates and Honours degree in psychology and leads to registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor.

Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych)

SACAP’s BPsych degree is a professional qualification that leads to registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor. The BPsych degree empowers you with knowledge and essential “work-ready” counselling and communication skills to provide short-term supportive counselling, psycho-education and psychological assessment for the purpose of protecting and promoting psychological wellbeing with individuals and families in diverse community settings. SACAP’s Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching is a comprehensive NQF 8 (Honours-equivalent) level qualification designed to equip professional coach practitioners. We bring our unique psychological lens to coaching as an applied psychology as we believe that in order to work effectively with others, one needs to understand and apply psychological principles.

Coach Practitioner Programme

SACAP’s Coach Practitioner Programme is a part-time, five month, short learning programme designed for working professionals.  It will provide you with a foundation in professional coaching and equip you with both theory and practical skills to become a coach practitioner.  We bring our unique psychological lens to coaching as an applied psychology and believe that in order to work effectively with others, one needs to understand and apply psychological principles within the scope of practice as a coach.

Advanced Coach Practitioner Programme

SACAP’s Advanced Coach Practitioner Programme builds on SACAP’s Coach Practitioner Programme, taking you to the next level by deepening your coaching development.  This short learning programme equips you with an integrated understanding of adult learning and change, offers an in-depth exploration of ethical practice in coaching, and exposes you to a range of coaching models including Group and Team Coaching.
