Internship Location: Pretoria East, Gauteng

The Bakery and Food Technology Incubator of South Africa (BICSA) is recruiting and invites applications for the Accounting/ Finance Internships 2023.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Accounting/ Finance intern

BICSA is located at the N4 Gateway Industrial Park in Pretoria East. We have entrenched ourselves as the first Food Technology Incubator.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The above-mentioned internship positions have arisen at BICSA. A monthly stipend of R5000 will be paid to successful applicants who will sign a 12 month contract.

The duties & responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Monthly management accounts
Bakery & Food Technology Incubator
Balance sheet reconciliations

Assist with Budgets
Auditing process and yearend financial/ assist with year end Audit

Debt Collection
Cashbooks, debtors and creditors reconciliation
Performs other duties as assigned.

Stock management (raw material and finished goods)
Preparation of schedules (accruals/cross charges etc.) for monthly management accounts)

Assist with the bookkeeping and accounting functions for SMME’s and Co-operative
Assist Snr Accountant with various ad hoc tasks

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You must have the following in order to apply for the this job

  • Matric (level 4)/Grade 12 and Degree /National
  • Diploma in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting and/or Financial Management (NQF Level 6)
  • Accumulated working hours (Minimum of 40 hours per week)

To qualify for the position of an Accounting /Finance Internship, an applicant should have some primary skills.

Below are the skills and qualifications often required for this position

  • Must be a graduate diploma- Accounting/financial management etc.
  • Proficient with computers and different finance software programs e.g. Pastel software
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal
    relationships.
  • Have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work without distraction.
    Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Prepare financial statements, enter data into spreadsheets and complete additional tasks related to company finances.

Tax Preparer to calculate payroll deductions, perform audits, fill out tax forms and ensure that client’s current practices align with SARS protocols for businesses.
