About ACT Cape Town
It was out of this need that Act Cape Town was born in 2005.
In line with our commitment to quality education for our actors, ACT made the decision to accredit the academy, and in April 2013 was granted provisional registration as a private higher education institution with the Department of Higher Education and Training.
The accreditation process inspired our team to rethink how our passion and vision would now be translated into excellent acting for film training.

In November 2017, Act Cape Town was pronounced full registration status with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a Private Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997.
The ACT Cape Town is pleased to announce the activation of the students’ portal for both stale students and fresh students of the university.
ACT Cape Town Student Portal is created for students to access results online, register for courses, download e-materials, check schedules of events such as deadlines for registrations, and access timetables.

ACT Cape Town Admission Requirements 2024
To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet the minimum requirements for eligibility:
Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
Applicants holding non–South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate.
