Qualification:

Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (NQF Level 2) and Further Mining Development.

This Qualification is FIRSTLY to equip learners working in any type of workplace with a broad understanding and knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) concepts and practices with sufficient detail to enable them to function in a safe and healthy way and to deal with health and safety problems and issues This is the entry-level to a career path in one of the areas of specialization in Occupational HSE. It is generic enough to allow maximum mobility within the field of application. Qualifying learners will according to their progress and aptitude on the HSE leadership be FURTHER developed into Mining Occupations with the following provisional targets:

  • General Workers
  • Stores General Workers – PTV
  • Engineering Assistants
  • Utility Vehicle (UV) Operators (Dover Pass Required)
  • Manitou Operators (Dover Pass Required)

• Special FOCUS will be placed on Female candidates and only Unemployed Youth will be considered.

CADETSHIP DURATION:

• The cadetship will be run over a six (6) month period (01 October 2021 to 31 March 2022).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must reside within the affected communities of Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd.
  • Must currently be unemployed.
  • Must have Grade 12 oran N4.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must pass the relevant Medical fitness requirements.
  • Must not have a criminal record.

• If you aspire to become a UV or Manitou Operator you have to have a current RSA Code EB driver’s license.
