Job Purpose:

The campus is searching for Lecturer Assistants who possess outstanding organizational and communication skills, pay close attention to detail, and have a strong grasp of the module material. Additionally, the Lecturer Assistants should demonstrate. qualities such as patience, approachability, and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Second / Third  / Final Year of study in faculty related discipline
  • Average of 80% of the previous year of study

The following are some of the criteria that the campus will use to evaluate potential candidates:

  • Academic Performance: Lecturer Assistants should have achieved high academic performance in the module(s) they will be tutoring. This can be demonstrated through their results (formative and summative assessments), and overall performance in relevant modules.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Lecturer Assistants should have a deep understanding of the module(s) they will be tutoring, with the ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner. They should also be up to date with the latest developments and trends in their field.
  • Teaching Skills: Lecturer Assistants should have excellent teaching skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, adapt to different learning styles, and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Experience: Lecturer Assistants with previous tutoring or teaching experience may have an advantage, as they will likely be more familiar with common challenges and strategies for success in tutoring.
  • Professionalism: Lecturer Assistants should demonstrate professionalism and reliability, with the ability to arrive on time, communicate effectively with students and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Lecturer Assistants should have good interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with students, work collaboratively with colleagues, and manage conflict or difficult situations effectively.
  • Commitment: Lecturer Assistants should be committed to the program and to helping students succeed academically. They should be willing to dedicate the necessary time and effort to prepare for tutoring sessions and follow up with students as needed.
