About the Mangosuthu University of Technology MUT
We are one of the six universities of technology in the Republic of South Africa. Located at Umlazi Township, we are named after our founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, who upon realising that under Apartheid in 1974, there was no technology institution in KwaZulu-Natal. In 1979 Mangosuthu Tecknikon opened its doors to its first fifteen students. We were established against a backdrop of transforming the lives of the disenfranchised, and today that very same thread of ‘transforming’ is still the cornerstone of where we would like to be. This has been added to our vision of ‘transforming, equitable, sustainable, academically excellent and anchored in our communities’.

MUT Nursing School Admission Requirements 2023
To be eligible for admission to study nursing, applicants need to meet the minimum requirements for eligibility:
Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Biology are recommended for Matriculation studies. Candidates will be admitted to the program if they have completed level 4 or literacy level 5 in mathematics, level 4 in physical science, and level 4 in life science.
Clinical training will take place at general and midwifery hospitals, mental hospitals, the community, and community health service facilities in the province in question.
How to Apply
Prospective students can apply to study nursing at Mangosuthu University of Technology MUT for 2023 in two ways, that is: through the online application portal or they can download the application form online or obtain it from the school’s admission office, fill the form and return it to the school.
